Join ASTHO’s Maternal and Infant team and breastfeeding professionals for a webinar addressing lactation education and support for incarcerated persons. Experts will address the power of breastmilk and how that positively impacts the incarcerated population.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the current policies for pregnant and lactating persons that are incarcerated.
- Learn how the mother-baby bond is created while the birthing and or lactating person is incarcerated and in what ways the mother baby bond can be sustained.
- Comprehend how breastfeeding is a preventative factor against postpartum depression and a psychological benefit for incarcerated lactating persons.
